Metro Social Services to Host “Community Connect” Monthly Resource Event

WHO

Metro Social Services in partnership with Greater St. John M.B. Church

WHAT

“Community Connect”. Navigating the painful consequences of financial strain can be overwhelming and frustrating. To help alleviate that strain, MSS has launched Community Connect, where the agency is going directly into the communities where the need is present, starting with North Nashville. Attendees won’t have to worry about booking an appointment or calling multiple agencies for help. Starting tomorrow, they can walk up, meet with a social worker and get immediately connected to resources and get referrals to agencies who can help them. This one-stop shop approach greatly relieves stress and gets families and individuals where they need to be.

Though this is not MSS’ typical food giveaway structure, a limited supply of food boxes will be available should a client express the need for food after meeting with a social worker.

WHEN

12 p.m.–3 p.m., August 18, 2026 (Tuesday) and every third Tuesday of the month

WHERE
