Livingston County Accepting Applications for Community Services Block Grant Funding
GENESEO, N.Y., Aug. 12, 2026 — The Livingston County Board of Supervisors and Community Initiatives Council (CIC) are requesting proposals from local incorporated agencies to deliver services that help low-income residents gain the skills, knowledge and resources necessary to achieve economic stability. All applications must be submitted by Aug. 28, 2026.
The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a federally funded program that supports community-based initiatives which provide needed services for low-income families and individuals. Locally, the nine-member Community Initiatives Council, appointed by the board of supervisors, administers the program as the County’s designated Community Action Program.
The CIC will give preference to proposals that impact the most pressing needs of Livingston County residents as identified in the 2026 Community Needs Assessment. Among them, housing ranked as the highest priority item, followed by employment that provides a living wage, transportation, child care, and food security. The council will score proposals on responsiveness to the Community Needs Assessment and overall quality (50 points), cost of services (25 points) and the agency’s experience providing similar programs (25 points).
Agencies must submit one original proposal in a sealed envelope marked “RFP- 2026 Community Service Block Grant” in the lower left corner. The County will not accept proposals by email or fax. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at:
